HH Wader Vs Minelab excalibur

I have a Minelab Explorer II and I want to get a water unit. I have been looking at the Minelab Excalibur, and have read good reviews, but some complain it's too heavy and the knobs break easily. Anyway how does the HH wader compare to the minelab excalibur in areas of depth?? and general metal detecting?? Thanks Stash
